DO WINDOW CLEANERS WORK IN THE RAIN?

In some sense I feel window cleaners are like postmen, we work come rain, hail or shine!

Perth has a lovely Mediterranean type climate and has got to be one of the best environments for a window cleaner to work in.

Sure it gets pretty toasty in the summer months, but we don't have severe winters.

WILL YOU STILL CLEAN MY WINDOWS IF IT'S RAINING?

So you've booked in a window cleaner, and the day they're due to arrive the forecast is for rain ... bummer!

So what happens? Do the cleaners cancel? Do you cancel?

I can only speak for myself, but ...

I will still come out to clean your windows should the forecast be rain. The only time I'll cancel is if it looks like a storm and/or torrential rain for most of the day.

We're pretty blessed here in Perth when it comes to the climate.

My Mum always used to remind us that here in the West, the sun always comes out at some stage during the day.

WHY I'LL STILL CLEAN YOUR WINDOWS ON A RAINY DAY

The reason I don't cancel jobs when the forecast is for less than clement weather, is that it never rains all day.

Here in Perth, when there is a downpour, it never lasts for long.

There's always enough of a break in the weather to get the job done.

Let's face it, half of the job is inside the house anyway!

Often the windows are under eaves or a patio, especially on single storey houses.

The above video is from a job I did in Applecross on a rainy winter's day.

You can find the blog post here.

It was a nice flat roofline on this 2 storey property, so it was business as usual.

WILL MY WINDOWS BE CLEANED PROPERLY?

The winter months can be a quieter time for us window cleaners, as most people assume that it's a waste of time and money having your windows cleaned.

But this isn't true, which you can learn about in this article.

I generally recommend having your windows cleaned twice a year.

If I do clean your windows on a rainy day, you can be guaranteed of a quality job.

This is because when rain hits a dirty or dusty window, water and moisture is going to get trapped by the dirt particles.

On a clean window, the rain simply sheets off, and the glass will dry clear.

STAYING SAFE IN THE RAIN

There has been the odd occasion where I've cancelled double storey cleans on really bad days.

It depends on the home, but this is due to safety issues.

With the pole fed pure water system, most windows can be reached from the safety of the ground or standing on a secured ladder.

But there are certain homes where the only way to access a window is to walk along the roof.

If the angle of the roof is a bit too steep and it's wet, then it's not a sensible idea.

If you like the idea of having clean windows again, please get in touch and I'll be happy to help.
