Many times after cleaning a clients windows, they'll ask: "how often should I have my windows cleaned?"
I generally recommend twice a year, once in the summer months and once over winter.

BUT ISN'T CLEANING WINDOWS IN WINTER A WASTE OF TIME?
Absolutely not!
It's a common misconception that it's pointless having your windows cleaned if it's going to rain.
Having clean windows in time for summer is lovely, all that dirt and dust is gone and it makes the whole house seem lighter and brighter.
But as the months go on, dust, insect spots and other dirt starts to accumulate on your window glass.
It happens slowly, so by the time you notice your windows are looking grubby, it can be heading into the rainier months.
By then, you're thinking there's no point getting your windows cleaned if it's just going to rain on them.
But the reality is, to maintain your windows in good condition, it's a great idea to have them cleaned in winter.
WHY IT'S IMPORTANT TO CLEAN YOUR WINDOWS IN THE WINTER MONTHS
All this dust, dirt and other contaminants that collect in the sunnier months is just sitting on your window glass.
When it rains, it doesn't wash all the dirt away and the rain water will sit on the glass.
The minerals in the dirt and contaminants will then start to eat away at the glass, which if left for long enough can create hard water stains.
I find this more so behind fly screens, as the dust collects a lot more as well as any moisture that will sit on the glass a lot longer.
KEEPING YOUR WINDOWS IN GOOD CONDITION ALL YEAR AROUND
Windows are a big investment, they come in all sizes and styles, thickness and type of glass as well as various tints and coatings.
It's expensive to have them replaced due to lack of maintenance.
So my recommendation is to have them cleaned, especially the external windows, at least twice a year.
