TIPS TO HELP YOU FIND THE BEST WINDOW CLEANER FOR YOUR NEEDS

If you live in Perth and you've ever searched for a winder cleaner, you'll know just how many there are out there.

It seems like an arduous task to find the best fit for your particular window cleaning requirements .. so how do you find the right window cleaning service?

Finding a good window cleaner is finding one that suits your individual needs. There's a few questions you can ask first so you make the best choice.

CHECK OUT REVIEWS

window cleaner reviews

I'd probably say this is one of the first things to do before even considering using a window cleaner's service.

In some respects, it's not the be all and end all, as there's many fabulous window cleaners who are a small business and may not even have a website or web presence, which I'll cover later in this article.

But I've said this before, you won't last long in this industry unless you deliver professional results.

HOW LONG HAVE THEY BEEN IN BUSINESS?

It seems like common sense, but a company that's been around longer and is more established is likely to know what they're doing.

This goes for owner/operators too.

The more time in this business means you've come across every window style and challenge out there.

This doesn't mean that a company that's been around for 20 years is necessarily going to deliver better results than a guy who's been operating a few years.

Which leads on to the next consideration.

HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE?

Sometimes a larger company can have newer employees who may not have years of experience.

So if you contact a larger company, maybe ask how much experience the person they're sending out has under their belt.

This also leads nicely on to the next point.

OWNER OPERATOR VS FRANCHISE VS LARGE COMPANY

I wouldn't want to categorically state that an owner/operator does a better job, but I do feel owner operators need to be consistent.

We can't afford bad reviews, they're the end of our business.

Many franchisees can also be owned by a sole operator or a couple, and the same applies.

They need to deliver a quality job every time, or their reputation is down the gurgler.

Larger companies often have a substantial amount of commercial work, so the odd less than optimal residential clean isn't going to damage their business.

Not to say that's their intent, it's just quality control is harder to manage the more staff you have on the books.

SO IS LOCAL BETTER?

What does local even mean in a sprawling city like Perth?!

I'll often drive 50kms or more to get to a job.

But I am an advocate of supporting local and small business, so I'd say yes.

If you find a local business in your area that delivers great results, book 'em in!

They'll probably have a better chance of arriving on time too, due to less traffic to navigate!

Again, this takes us to the next consideration.

WORD OF MOUTH

A large proportion of my work comes from word of mouth.

It's good for the business owner, plus it's fantastic for the customer.

You only get a job by WOM if you've done a great job.

So a recommendation from a family member or friend is going to save you the time and hassle of searching for a window cleaner.

STATE YOUR NEEDS

Be clear on what requirements you need.

Are your windows water stained?

Are there any leadlight windows, colonial panels or French doors?

Is it a single or 2 storey property?

It's going to be frustrating waiting for the cleaners to arrive, only for them to inform you they don't clean mirrors, solar panels, pool fencing or other types of glass.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

This may not be a consideration for everybody, but work schedules and other commitments may mean you only have a certain amount of time available.

A bigger company often send out two or more cleaners, so the job is done a lot faster.

Also, a window cleaner can have a few jobs booked for the day, so they may be unable to arrive and finish at a time that's convenient and is going to work for you.
